What was your First Bingo Games Like
Category: Bingo
I first entered a real bingo hall with my mum and Nan when I was 19 years old and never looked back. It was an experience full of nerves and excitement. Beforehand I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the Bingo Caller so my mum advised me to just run three or four cards. I had preconceived ideas and thought the callers would say things like ‘two fat ladies 88’ or Kelly’s eye number 1’ as this is what they did if I’d played on holiday.
It took a few games to get into it and also the Bingo Callers seemed to call at different speeds! When I went into the hall it was full of people of different ages which made me feel more at ease, I think I expected there to be a lot of older people!
I remember as I played for a line, two lines or full house I would panic if I got close. I would think to myself if I needed two numbers for a line that I was the only one which seems very naive looking back now. I also thought about if I did win what I would spend the money on and would the Bingo Caller hear me when I called house. This hasn’t changed though, I still think it now!!
One memory I have when I first played is of the bingo pens and which is the best to use. My mum would use a dabber but I preferred the felt tip style! I still enjoy playing in a hall however find the convenience of online bingo much easier as it fits around my commitments.
